Week 9 - Project 1 - Door Applique Design with Engineering Features
Object:
To design the Heat Stake and Locator on solid door applique.
Tooling axis creation:
Tooling axis: the direction of mould open and close and perform the draft analysis on it.

- Firstly, we can extract surface and crate the point, by on surface in point command.
- And to draw the line, by normal to surface in line command
- That’s the line is tooling axis.
creating class B surface:
class B surface is created from the class A surface. And the surfaces of class A are extract and untrim it. And extrapolated the untrim surfaces and offset the surface with 2.5 mm in required direction and give the fillet values to offsite surface. the final filleted surface is B surface.

Creating c surface:
C surface is also created from class A surface. And it will create from boundaries of class A surface. Use the class A surface boundary to perform the sweep operation with 3 deg draft angle along the tooling axis. And join each surface with join command. The joined surface is class C surface.

Join the class A, B and C surfaces:
After creating all the surface, we join the class A and C surfaces, and trim with class B surface. and we get the closed hollow surface.
Join class A to C surface

Final trim:

Thicken the surface:
In this, Change the mode to part design and thicken the hollow surface by close body in surface-based tool bar. And we get the solid body with proper dimensions.

- In this green color shows the draft angle gathers than the 2 deg.
- The blue color represents the daft angle is between the 0 to 2 deg.
- Red color represents the draft angle is lower than the 0 deg.
