Week 9 - Project 1 - Door Applique Design with Engineering Features

CREATING LOCATORS AND HEAT STICKS ON THE APPLIQUE

First the tooling axis is created for the Applique class A-Surface.

Draft analysis is done using the tooling axis, Draft analysis is not needed because parallel surfaces to the tooling axis as we can see. But it is done to make sure.

B SURFACE CREATION

C SURFACE Creation with minimum Draft of 3deg outwords to the part.

Obtaining a closed surface using the Class C-Surface.

Splliting the edge.

Now a 4 way locator is created on the closed body obtained above with a minimal draft of 0.5 degree and edge fillet of 0.25mm and with standard dimensions of rib.

Using the same steps one more 4 way locator and a 2 way locators are created.

Now a heat stick is created on the closed body.

So the points are created for the heat sticks positions on the closed body.

Now by the copy and paste special option heat sticks are created on the above points.

Draft analysis on the complete door Applique after the creation locators and heat sticks.

switching the draft direction the other side.
