Week 9 - Challenge 1 - Base Bracket Design

To create the tooling axis, the right axis should be determined so that the product can be manufactured with sufficient draft. After analysing the features of the given class A surface, z axis seemed to the best option for creating the tooling axis. A dummy tooling axis was created at the centre of the hole on the base along the z axis. Then section command is used to extract the curves of the surface along the plane created parallel to the yz plane, such that the dummy tooling axis lies on the plane. Now construction lines are created along the lines representing the outer faces of the ribs. Another line is created bisecting the two construction lines. Now this line is used as the tooling axis for the product.
