Week 7 Challenge - Assembly Workbench

Assignment Report

The given parts were quite easy to create as they had simple structures and features like cylinders and square blocks. Boolean operations helped me a lot in part creation and made it easier. For few parts simple sketches and multipad options were used to create them. After I created them, I started to work on the assembly of the quick return mechanism and cv joint. As instructed in the video, i started by adding a new empty part named skeleton with a reference point in it. Next I added all the parts and created all the reference axes in a separate geometrical set named reference elements for each part. Next I started to give constraints to the parts. I fixed the skeleton part and then, one by one, all the necessary constarints were added to all the parts. For offset constarints, the required offset values were measured from the dimensions and created. For all the coincident constraints, the apropriate axes were selected and the coincident constarints were created. Then I checked the motion of the each part by chhosing the appropriate motion from the manipulation tool. In quick return mechanism, the cylindrical rod that slides along the curved slot goes beyond the slot walls, the curved slot was not long enough for the complete rotation. Other than that the remaining constraints worked well. Finally after checking everything I saved the files and have attached them below for submission.
