- Report on the creation of tooling axis
REPORT ON CREATION OF TOOLING AXIS
The specimen provided was a door handle. A tooling axis was created for the A surface considering the draft constraints. With respect to tooling axis a B-surface and C-surface was created.
Tooling axis was created by considering all the draft requirements. Different tooling axes were created on different axis. Finally a tooling axis was selected by the bisecting method.
Also another tooling was created based on a trial and error method. In this method Y axis passed as the tooling axis. Since Y axis was more adequate, the later tooling axis was considered as the final tooling axis of the specimen.
RESULT
The tooling axis was created and it satisfies all the draft requirements. - Draft analysis on the solid
( one the above image two edges are in blue colour. I can't correct it since chamfering that part could cause change in A-surface provided. According to instructions A-surface shouldn't be altered.)
