The Dog House is the B Class surface Feature used to give the extra length to the screw boss and to avoid various defects due to same

There are various Engineering rules to design a dog house, some are as follows

The height should be more than 12mm

At the junction of dog house & Class b Surface the wall thickness of dog house should be less than or equal to 0.4 times the thickness of the dog house & depth of it should be 3mm ~ 6mm.

A minimum draft of 0.5 degree should be given inside the dog house for clearance of side core & 1.5 degree on the outside walls for clearance of main core
