Attachment Feature Creation like screw boss and dog house.

AIM:

To create a screw boss and dog house on a coin holder and preform draft analysis on it.

PROCEDURE:

Firstly, open the model using the open command.

SCREW BOSE:

To create a screw boss, first, create a sketch and Iso-constraint it.

Pad the sketch to a height of 15mm as per 3:1 ratio.

Then draft it with a min of 0.5 deg both inside and outside.

The boss is created but needs some support. So we created ribs for support.

First, draw a sketch and Iso-constraint it.

Now pad the ribs to a height of 12mm and second limit to 1mm select it as neutral element.

Now the ribs are drafted to 0.5 deg angle all sides.

Trim the screw boss with the ribs.

Assemble the screw boss with the coin holder.

Now give edge fillets to the edges of about 0.25mm.

The screw boss with ribs is attached with the coin holder.

Similarly, to create another one copy the screw boss and past it in main part body then translate it.

DOG HOUSE:

To create a dog house, first create a sketch on the base of the coin holder by using extract.

Iso- constraint the sketch.

Then sweep the sketch with tooling axis direction with 1.5 deg angle inside and height of 22mm.

Offset the extracted plane to a 20mm.

Then trim the surface and sweep surface

Now, give an edge fillet to edges.

Now offset to 0.8mm 40% of the thickness of dog house.

Then offset the extracted surface to 5mm and trim it with the offset.

Trim the excess surface by extracting surface and offsetting it.

Thicken it by going to part body to 2mm.

Now trim the thicken body with the surface.

Now give fillet to the edges of 0.2mm.

Assemble the dog house in the coin holder.

Position the screw boss on the dog boss by using translate command.

FINAL OUTPUT:

DRAFT ANALYSIS:

Goto insert, select analysis and featured draft analysis.

Select compass and place it on the tooling axis and click on the surface.

RESULT:

The screw boss and dog house has been created and draft analysis is preformed.
