Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 1

Rib Creation:

For the Rib creation, we have to follow design rules.

Creation of rib for coin holder:

1.Extract the bottom face on which the rib will be constructed.

2. Use positioned sketch on this surface and draw the line where the rib is required, the length of the line should be same as the rib.

3. extrude this line, the extrude length should be according to the design rules i.e 2.5*5=12.5mm

4. give thickness to this rib 1mm.

5. Give the draft to the rib of 0.5 degree according to the design rule.

6. Check the thickness at the top edge of the rib it should more than 0.75mm, if it is less than this then the material will not flow to the end and assemble this rib to the main body.

7. Give fillet to sharp edges of the value 0.25mm.

8. Intersect the switch bezel with XY plane.

9. For checking the rib root thickness create a tangent circle.

7. The root thickness should not be more than 130% of the thickness of the part, i.e should not be more than 2.5*1.3=3.25.

9. For another rib offset the line by a distance of 6 mm which is calculated according to the design rules.

10. The distance in the rib should be more than 5mm.
