Challenge

Week 8 - Challenge 2 - Base Bracket Design

Draft Analysis: Draft Analysis is the tool used to check whether the component is manufacturable with the given draft or not.

Steps for the creation of tooling axis:

1.Check for the direction in which the tooling axis is most suitable.

2. Create the dummy tooling axis in the z-direction.

3. Create an intersecting curve to YZ plane and class-A surface.

4. Create a line on a curve to check if these profiles are creating problems.

5. Create the bisecting line And Make it a tooling axis, Publish the Class-A surface and tooling axis for convenience.

6. Check the Draft analysis.

Steps for Class B Creation:

1. Extract the surfaces of Rib( Without Fillets), and then un-trim it.

2. Extend the untrimmed sufaces.

3. Trim the Surface of this as a requirement.

4. Offset the trimmed surfaces by 2.5mm.

5. Do the same procedure for the rib 2

6. Following the same procedure Create the whole surface without fillets.

7. Give the fillets

Class C Surface creation.

1.Pich the boundary and then sweep it along the tooling axis with 3 degree draft.

 2. Join the Class A surface With the sweep.

Creation of Plastic component.

1. Trim Class B and the Joined Surface.

2. Go to the part design and give the closed surface.

Draft analysis.
