Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 1
COIN HOLDER CENTRAL CONSOLE RIB DESIGN
AIM:
Create rib on coin holder component following the design rule. Also perform rib root thickness analysis and draft analysis of final output.
The coin holder central console data provided to us, we need to create rib and tolling axis.

After that we performed draft analysis, whether the component is manufacturable or not.
TOOLING AXIS CREATION:
Analyze all surfaces for the possibility of tooling clearing all surfaces. For this component the main tooling axis should be perpendicular to the base surface.

RIB DESIGN:
Ribs are thin, wall-like features typically designed into the geometry of a part to add internal support to walls or other features like bosses. In a similar fashion, gussets are support features that reinforce areas such as walls or bosses. Thickness and location are essential to rib design.
At the time of creating rib for components below standard rules should be followed.

For this component (Coin holder) thickness is 2.5 mm, we consider this as t.
The rib thickness should be 0.4t
So 0.4X2.5 = 1 mm

The rib height should be less than equal to 5t
So 5X2.5 = 12.5 mm

Rib thickness at tip should be more than 0.75 mm

Fillet radius should be maximum 0.25 mm

RIB ROOT THICKNESS ANALYSIS:
The rib root thickness should be 30% of the component thickness. The rib root thickness is calculated by drawing a tangent circle to all sides. Here the diameter of the created circle is 2.686 mm and it is comes under the the permissible limit 30% of the component thickness (Comp. thickness is 2.5 mm)

And now we have to find out the spacing between the two ribs. The height to distance between two ribs is 3:1. Here the height is 12.5 mm so minimum distance should be 4.1 mm. Here the distance is 5 mm which complies with the design rule.

DRAFT ANALYSIS:
Now perform the draft analysis of the final product.
