Door Arm Rest Week 8 Challenge

AIM:

Perform draft analysis of given class A surface of door armrest catia model and creation of Class B & Class C surface

creation to get solid part out of it. Again perform draft analysis of output solid component. With considering part

thickness is 2.5mm.

OBJECTIVE:

Create tooling axis following the OEM standard

Ensure proper names for every geometrical set according to sketches.

All sketches should be under the geometrical set.

Publication of tooling axis and class A, B and C surface.

Follow the instructions given in the video a solid.

Part Thickness : 2.5 mm

1st we have to check the connectivity of the surface. Whether the surface provided has any discontinuity in it.

It will be done by creating a boundary or by using the Boundary or joining command.

TOOLING AXIS CREATION:

Analyze all surfaces for the possibility of tooling clearing all surfaces. For this type of construction surface it's required to have Side-core action to get proper features and easy to ejection. So we need two tool axis directions. One is main tooling direction normal to base surface and Side-core action tooling direction normal to prospective surface.

Main tooling Axis:

Side core tooling Axis:

Perform the same procedure for the side core as well.

DRAFT ANALYSIS:

Main Tooling Axis:

Side core Tooling Axis:

CLASS - B SURFACE:

B surface will be created by extracting each class A surface then Un-trim, Extrapolate, offset (as per part thickness) and trim operation will be performed. Then apply the required filets value then we get the Class B surface.

CLASS - C SURFACE:

C surface will be created by using sweep operation with reference surface and with angle. Then extrapolate each corner and trim them to get class C surface.

Now trim class A surface with class C surface

Then trim the class B surface with the output surface of class A & C. We get the final output component on the surface.

By using the Closed surface tool we get the final component in solid.

DRAFT ANALYSIS OF FINAL COMPONENT:
