Week 9 - Attachment Feature Creation - Challenge 1
AIM: To creat rib on the coin holder according to the design rules.
COIN HOLDER WITH RIB
A rib is a feature which increases the strength of a component. Ribs on a plastic component must be created according to the rules shown in figure 1.
If the rib deviates from the design rules, surfaces may have defects such as sink marks.

Fig 1: Design rulese for rib creation

Fig 2: Part model of coin holder

Fig 3: Oreintations of coin holder

Fig 4: Draft analysis of coin holder
It is evident from figure 4 that a proper draft or an acceptable value of draft which is 3 degree is not provided which should be bought in attention to the styling team.

Fig 5: Root radius analysis of the rib
From figure 5 the root radius value is in the acceptable value. Hence the rib created satisfies all the requirement.

Fig 6: Distance between 2 ribs
Distance between 2 ribs should be in the ratio of 2:1 between the height of the rib to the distance between the two ribs. In this case it should be more than 6.25mm. From the figure the distance between two ribs is 7.5mm.
CONCLUSION
A rib feature is created on a coin holder according to the design rules.
