Week 8 - Challenge 5 - Door Trim Lower

DOOR TRIM LOWER

TREE STRUCTURE:

Steps to design door trim FROM the given CLASS A

1. CLASS A : It is the input which have provided to us , this claas A surface has design on software like ALIAS .

we will the first check any open boundaries or not in the class A , If it has, then we will the join them trough JOIN command .

TOOLING AXIS: it is the tooling direction along which core and cavity eject. Here in the door trim , i have extract the surafce and made line along y direction, because, Along Y direction we can able to see the component. and also it is clearing our part in that direction.

DRAFT ANALYSIS: We will prove 3 degree draft to our component because when mold will eject our compomnent then it should have slightly been drafted or tapered so that it will eject the component with ease and having not produce any scratch or defect to our component.

we will place the compass on the tooling axis and give the values of 2.9 degree

here , we have seen that , all the suraface shows green in colour means that every part is avove 3 degree drafted.

CLASS B : It is the thickness which we provide on the class A , to gain strength in it, by taking offset from the class A , and it should have been below the class A , so to have aesthic look ON CLASS A .

OFFSET VALUE = 2.5

STEPS TO FORM CLASS B :

1. After offset from class A , check if proper surface come or not , if not then we have to repair our surface

2. To repair the surface ,

- remove sub element surface THROUGH JOIN COMMAND

- MULTIEXTRACT THE SURFACE

- EXTARPOLATE TO INTERSECT AND TRIM IT to get DESIRED output.

- give FILLET MANUALLY , AFTER MEASURE FILLET RADIUS FROM CLASS A.

IMPROVISED CLASS B

CLASS C : It is done to join class A AND Class B, and it is usually done on class A , BY TAKING BOUNDARIES AND SWEEP WITH 3 DEGREE DRAFT , WHOSE SURAFACE ARE PERPENDICULAR to the tooling axis.

JOIN CLASS A AND CLASS C

CLOSED SURAFCE : TRIM THE CLASS B AND JOIN A AND C , TO GET THE CLOSED SURAFACE.

CLOSED BODY : WE will add material into the closed surface, by inserting new body in PART DESIGN, BY CLOSE SURFACE METRHOD

DRAFT ANALYSIS FOR CLOSED BODY: It is used to check, that our mold is clearing our component oer not, here we have seen that , all the surafce are above 3 degree, but at the sides it is showing that it has zero degree , because of the GIVEN class A , As class A curve is not formed so well.

here , we saw taht it has showing zerp draft , after given 3 degree draft , it means that it has problem with class A.

CONCLUSION :

Here , I have Created the Door Trim Plastic component through the given Class-A surface, with 3 degree draft.
