Week 8 - Challenge 5 - Core & Cavity Design
Draft: Draft is given for the easy removal of the finished product
Draft Analysis: It is the tool used to check if the drafted design is manufacturable or not.
Steps for Creation of Tooling Axis:
1. Extract the bottom Face And create a point on the centre of it. Then add the axis system on the point.
Use intersect for Class A And the YZ plane of the axis. Next use positioned sketch in yz plane.
- Create A tooling axis in the Y direction with help of positioned sketch in which create two lines on the inclined surface then bisect them.
3. Intersect ZX with the class and Create the tooling Axis in the X direction by bisecting the line on the inclined surface and the line 8 degree from the inclined surface line.
4. Bisect these two lines from the sketch And increase the length of it and name it as Tooling Axis. Then Publish the tooling Axis and class-A surface for convenience.
Draft analysis of the part:
Insert feature draft Analysis, drag the compass on the tolling axis and select the plastic part for analysis.
Creation of the core:
1. Extrapolate class A for Trimming.
2. Trimm the sweep of class C with Class B.
Trim both Surfaces.
Create Sketch on the XY plane And draw a rectangle.
Extrude the rectangle in the Z direction as required.
Trim this with the surface which is created.
Extract the boundary of the open face of the rectangle and fill it and then join this fill with the rectanle.
Creation of the cavity:
Trim Class B with the rectangle.
Extract the boundary of the open face of the rectangle and fill it and then join this fill with the rectangle
.
Go to the part workbench and make solid bodies if core and cavity with the use of a close surface.
Creation of the Parting Line
1. Intersect Class b With the join of Class A and sweep, this line will be the parting line.
Creation of the parting surface:
For parting surface split the Class B surface with the parting line.
