Week 8 - Challenge 4 - Bumper

BUMPER

AIM

To create the bumper plastic component from the given class A surface.

Objectives

  • To craete the tooling axis
  • To create the class B and class C surfaces.
  • To create the final plastic component.
  • To perform the draft analysis on th final component.

Creation of tooling axis

  • Initially we should check the given class A surface along with the XYZ direction .
  • The find the suitable axis for the tooling direction.
  • Then at that particular position take the extract of flat surface from the given class A surface .
  • After that one line is created by using point and direction method in the suitable axis.

Procedure to create the plastic component

Creation of class B surface

Offset the class A surface in downward direction to 3mm.

Then find the issue (gaps) in the offseted surface .

Take the extrat from the class a surface , wherever the offseted surface have the gaps.

Again offset extracted face to 3mm in downward direction .

Then join the extracted offset surface with main surface .

Take the multiple extracts from the surface

Create the extrpolation on the extracted faces.

make the drim between the extrpolated faces.

Give the fillets

Join with the main surface by using replace method.

Creation of class C surface

Take the individual boundary with respect to the curve smoothness .

Ctreate the swap surface on that boundary by the way of surace reference or draft direction method .

Repeat the method to all over the surrounding surface .

Creation of final closed surface

Make the join between the class C and class a surface.

Make the drim between the joined surface with class B surface .

Here our final closed surface

Then go to the partworkbench , by usiong closed surface cmethod the sold body is created .
