Week 8 - Challenge 3 - Coin Holder Design

COIN HOLDER

AIM:

Create the Coin Holder Plastic component through the given Class-A surface. To begin with, the tooling axis for the given Class-A Surface should be created meeting the requirements of the draft angle and at the end perform the Draft analysis on the model.

TOOLING AXIS:

  • For creating then the tooling axis we need to see visually for the correct axis
  • In this surface the intersection is made to check the CLASS A is with angle or not
  • This surface is with 3 degree so we need to create the dummy line for bisecting line
  • The bisected line is tooling axis and it is used for draft analysis

CLASS B SURFACE

  • The side walls are extracted and it was untrimed then it is offset to 2.5mm
  • Then the 4 walls are got trimed and fillets is given to it

  • Next the base was extracted and offset to the requied distance then got trimed with the side walls

  • The top wall, outer flange both extracted and offseted then got trimed together

CLASS C SURFACE

FINAL TRIM

DRAFT ANALYSIS IN CLOSE SURFACE

  • Draft analysis is done in the close surface and 3 degree angle is given
  • The surface in green color so the tooling axis is in correct
