Week 6-Meshing of Hood Challenge
Objectibe:-
Chalenge is to mesh the given components with given criteria
As we are suposed to mesh the component for crash analysis so we suposed to use mixed option rather than quad.
Steps to follow:-
There are few steps to follow while creating a mesh
- Important thae component
- Arange the components in sequence tonbe mesh through assembly option
- Then gobwith each component
- First delete the solid components if any solid components can be identified by seeing broder green edges or green shades.
- After deleting the solids. Check for any surface damage wjile importing compoments.
- Then check Thickness. if it lies in bellow 6mm go for mid surface genaration
- So that we can create meash in 2d which are called as shell elements by providing property thickness it can also represented as 3d element.
- After creating mid surface check if there is any errors or free edges (due to surface missing) is any create surfaces.
- Then perform auto cleanup on the component.
- Which toglles unwanted feature lines and remobes fillets in the range provided.
- Above all functions comes under geometry clean up.
- After geometry clean up we can perform meshing on the component.
- Before meshing if the component have complicated shapes split the geometry into standard tria, rectangular, petagon, shapes to get proper mesh flow.
- Here in this challenge we are using automesh with mixed(quad and tria) option to create mesh and also rebuild mesh to get proper mesh flow.
- Tria, rotational quards can be avoide by remeshing and draging tria elements(cleanup tools) mesh flow can be adgested by smoothing option and element optimisation option.
- Element conectivity problem can be rectified by finding free edges (for confoemation of gap) then conect with equevalence option
- If the gap is more than minimum element size then go for replacement option in that conect the node of elements manually and remesh it for proper mesh flow.
- Afyer creating mesh create property and assigh the property to meshed component
- So that we can visualise 2d meshin 3d.
- Outer extract in this challenge meshed in such a way that due to it having bending with very small radious surface at bending portion is splited at middle to avoid minimum element error.
- Components like outer extract, inner extract due to their simitry only half portion of component is meshed and reflected by using reflect option.
