Week 5:- Rest Unit & Clamp Unit Design Challenge

Design 2 Different types of Rest Unit for the given Car Panel.

ANS:- Rest unit is designed to support the car panel it uses NC blocks or milar to support the car panel. It has different parts as follows:-

1. NC block:- NC block is simple part use to support the panel.

2. spacers or shims they are used to adjust the position position of NC block they are mostly standard parts it comes with different sizes to adjust the accurate position

3. Blade:- Blade connects overall assembly to the riser. It is either make part or standard part it can be of any shape.

4. Riser:- Riser is used to raise the height of assembly till car panel. It is either make part or standard part.

Design 3 Different types of Power Clamp Unit with Different Riser, Blade and Clamp Arm for the given Car Panel.

ANS:-

1. Mylar:- There are two types of milar (1) clamp mylar:- clamp mylar hold the panel from upside. It pivots around cylinder mounted. It is movable type of mylar. (2) Rest mylar:- It holds car panel from downside. It is non-movable type of mylar.

2. spacers or shims:- They are used to adjust the position position of NC block they are mostly standard parts it comes with different sizes to adjust the accurate position.

3. L block:- L block connects the mylar specifically rest mylar to blade or riser. It allows changing position in two way. It has shimming in two directions. It is either make part or standard part.

4. Blade:- Blade connects overall assembly to the riser. It is either make part or standard part it can be of any shape.

5. Riser:- Riser is used to raise the height of assembly till car panel. It is either make part or standard part.
