Week 5 Challenge : Surface wrap on Automotive Assembly
- AIM:For the given models, check for the geometrical errors and delete surfaces which are unwanted for Surface wrap, After clearing geometry, Merge all 3 models and perform surface wrap.
- OBJECTIVE: To perform the surface wrap for the merged model with 3 has a traget length.
- PROCEDURE:
- first open the model and try to get it on the work space,go with topo clean up procedure.
- delete all the unwanted surfaces ,it is but difficult to delete so many unwanted surfaces at time so set view according to convient &delete as many as unwanted surfaces at time.
- Else using not tool hide the main part of the models & delete remaining unwanted surfaces
- repeat the same procedure for remaining two models,which need to be merged with this model.
- after doing topo cleanup for all 3 models merge them,go to files there you find merge tool using tht merge the 2 parts with engine part.
- after merging all 3 parts fill the surfaces which are opened using tool new > coons or fitted.
- Than jump for meshing
- In meshing go to elements you find wrap go for it,chooxe constant length .
- a new dialouge box appears give the target length as given in aim, smooth as 0.5, get all the pids to be wraped by selecting all the pids
- lastly run the wrap tool.
- now we can see the surface wrap for the whole model .
- LEARNING OUTCOMES:learned a new concept of wraping ,merging the 2 or 3 parts, detailed topo clean up for this type of models.
- RESULT: finally we can see the wraping for the the merged model with given target length.
