Week 5 Challenge : Surface wrap on Automotive Assembly

AIM: To perform the geometrical errors and delete surfaces which are unwanted for Surface wrap to the given three models, then merge all the models and perform surface wrap of target length 3mm.

PROCEDURE:

1. First, open the given engine model into the GUI, for our convenience turn on the PID mode.
   
2. Here, first we should make the geometrical errors clean, so delete the unwanted surfaces, like the ring structures which are not needed.
3. To, simplify this use the boolean operation called NOT and hide the necessary surfaces, then delete the unwanted ring like surfaces.
   
4. Then, clear the single cons and triple cons on the model surface using TOPO cleanup tools.
   
5. By, clearing all the single cons and triple cons the topological errors are cleared.
6. Use, compress option to delete the unwanted PID's.
7. And save the model to the local flies.
8. Then, open the another given model (transmission model) into the GUI, and enable the PID mode.
   
9. And clear the topological cleanup by using topo tools, and then use the compress option to delete the unnecessary PID's.
10. Then save the model into the local files.
11. After that, open the given Gearbox model into the GUI, and turnon the PID mode.
    
12. Then, clear topological errors, and delete the unnecessary PID's using compress tool.
13. Then save the model into the local files.
14. Then now we need to assemble the three models using Merge tool. click on FILES-->MERGE--> select the remaining models and click on ok.
15. Then all the models are assembled on the GUI. 
    
16. Then to do the surface mesh to the assembled model, close the open surfaces by creating new face.
17. Then it can be moved to Surface wrap.
18. So, click on the WRAP tool in MESH SURFACE section. Here the status of my model should EMPTY.
    
19. Double click on the status, 
    
20. And give the Name and Target length as 3mm. And click and ok and the wrapping is started and it takes time to wrap the model.
21. And the whole assemble model is wrapped to Tria elements of 3mm tageted length, as shown bleow.

RESULTS: Hence we, perfoemed TOPO cleanup to clear the topological errors to the given three models, and merge the models and performed surface wrap to the assemble model of Targeted length 3mm.

OBSERVATIONS: The surface wrap tool made the model into a volume mesh of given Target length 3mm and make the whole model to a single volume.
