Week 5 Challenge : Surface wrap on Automotive Assembly
AIM: SURFACE WRAP ON AUTOMOTIVE ASSEMBLY
Objective:
- Target length for Wrap = 3 mm
- Write a detailed report on steps followed to finish this challenge.
Given Models:
Engine:

Gear Box:

Transmission:

First we have to do Topology Clean:
- Delete the unwanted Surfaces like Rings and Overlaped Surfaces.

The Engine has alot of excess parts which are necessary for surface wrap. Select the main important parts in PID mode and the Hide them all.

After deleting the The overlaped, excess and uncessary parts We have to fill the Holes that will not create an issue During Surface wrap and Then we have to merge all the 3 parts into one engine.
Go to file>merge>open the require file and then Click on Merge.

After then we do Surface wrap Go to Elements that is under Surface Mesh> Then click on Constant Length.

Double click on Constant wrap octree whose status is now Empty. Then Click on click

Select all the PID'S required for Surface Mesh.

Provide the Mesh length for this Case we have target Length 5.

Conclusions:
- Surface wrap is achieved Successfully on the given Components of Power train.
- Surface wrap is effective for outside flow simulation where the Volume between the Body and wind tunnels is required for flow over the body simulations.
- Surface is easier to perform since it doesn't depend on the quality of the wrap on each material as we are not interested in Physics in the body.
