Week-4 Challenge WOT Condition Part-2
ans 1). the difference between mapped and dynamic model engine are as follows
mapped model:if we take an example of practical life in mapped model the accelereation value goes on to the electric control unit ECU which controls the flow of throttle through which diffrent speed ,torque characteristics is obtained for example :in a electric vehicle there are 3 or more than 3 diffrent modes econmy mode ,sports mode and long ride more or so on so according to the drivers comfot or need he can switch the modes in economy mode the vehicle can run at normal speed with more range and less speed
in sports mode the drivers can get a short range but high torque and speed this moded are than contro9lled through ECU
now if we consider a theorotical point of view the mapped model will consider a external file in which speed with respect to time chart is already prepared for example exel sheet or matlab workspace data to create speed torque characteristic and as per the sheet or data provided to the model the further mapping will be cariied out
Dynamic model : for this the real time example we can consider as old generation ic engine cars in which the throttle value deppends upon the value of accelerator that is provided as an input for an car to run forward no circuitry involved in between totally mechanical
now if we consider this in matlab we can sayt that whatever input constant is given to the dynamic model goes through fundamental calculation and formulas and that is manipulated for an output in short input=output nothing gets in between except losses.
We can switch between mapped and dynamic engines by following below procedures:
1.oepn the hev model in simulink.
2.enter the passenger car block by double clicking it.
3.then go to electric plant block.
4.inside the motor block right right click on gen blockset find the variant option then fo to label mode active choice then select gen mapped or gen dynamic

ans 2). how does the model calculate fuel efficiency
In the case of an electric vehicle, this is a measure how much electrical energy is consumed by the battery pack to travel a fixed distance.
which can be visualised from the "performance calculation" block under "visualization" block

and the parameter that affect the speed of vehicle or overall efficiency can be controlled from the environment block
factors considered for model fuel flow
the major factor that are considered for the fuel flow analysis in case of a of a electric vehicle are
speed of vehicle and battery power , more the speed of vehicle the rate of conumption will be more
ans 3). Run the HEV ReferenceApplication with WOT drive cycle. Change the grade and wind velocity in the environment block.

setting and value changed to wide open throttle

this were the reading i observed on the logic analyser with wide open throttle input
ans 4).keeping all the parameters same, compare the simulated results of pure and hybird electric powertrains.
simulation of hev and ev at similar parameters
electric vehicle simulation with wot cycle

hev simulation with WOT cycle:

through this simulation i came to know the most basic conclusion that can be obtained is
the efficiency of the ev will be more over hev
the distance travel (range) will be more compared to ev
the hev can be said as less efficient in case of fuel economy
the battery capacity and voltage +ampere rating will be more in case of ev in comparision to hev
with wot cycle the speed of hev will be more compared to ev
