Week 4 Challenge
REPORT
1) Main Tooling Direction
The Tooling Direction is basically the direction that the mold pulls apart. The mold is built in two separate pieces, basically. You have a Cavity side and you have the Core side. The Core pulls apart from the Cavity and that's the Dyeline or the Tooling Direction

2) DRAFT ANALYSIS

3) Write the definition of the Parting line..?
A parting line, in industrial casting of molds, is the border line between the two halves of the mold (known as the “core” and the “cavity.”), which draft direction change at here. One can check the parting line in the mould or product which divides the two half.

5)

Definition and Function:
The parting line refers to the interface between the two halves of a mold tool, namely the core and cavity.
It serves as the boundary through which the molten material flows and solidifies to form the desired product shape.
The parting line also defines the seam or flash that may occur where the two halves of the mold meet, which needs to be minimized for optimal product quality.
Importance in Mold Tool Design:
Precise placement and management of the parting line are critical for ensuring uniformity and consistency in the molded products.
The location of the parting line affects factors such as product aesthetics, functionality, and manufacturability.
Proper alignment of the parting line is essential to avoid defects like flash, sink marks, and knit lines in the final product.
