Week 4
Aim: To produce a proper mesh for the given component and assign proper thickness to each part.
INTRODUCTION:
Bottle caps are very nessaccary part in a bottle, as its going to handle the pressure and of the liquid that is present inside the bottle and avoid that bottle from bursting out.
bottle caps have small ribs and thread present in it.
Usually threads are present for proper handling of the cap whereas the ribs play a very crucial part because onc ethe bottle is filled with acidic fluid ex:PEPSI,COCOCOLA etc. they have a very high pressure so once they get packed the fluid tries to jump out,so ribs tries to release the pressure bit by bit outside and bring the pressure under control.
BEST example is when we shake the PEPSI bottle amd open the cap the fliud pops out of very high pressure.

PROCEDURE:
Import the model to Ansa software

check for the geometry whether all the lines triple cons are removed
then give a complete topo to the model
check for the dimension i.e thickness of each part
By using the offset tool produce a midsurface for eachpart as shown in the figure.
For the thread use middle(curve) command and select the two lines where the centre is to be produced.

then project the same curve to the lower surface and create a new surface and save it to seprate PID.

Once all the midsurafce is produced save all the mid with appropriate thickness.

GO to mesh module-spot mesh-and select the surface where the mesh is to be depoloyed.
check for the quality errors and rectify using reconstruction and smooth tool

RESULT: proper midsurface is produced and mesh is deployed with less quality errors.
