Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool

1) For EV_defaults_in file, if cargo mass is 500 kg with all other default conditions, can the vehicle travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle?

For the cargo mass of 500kg with battery capacity of 25 modules, the SOC of the battery when travel distance of 45km get 0%. that is battery capacity is not sufficent to drive 45km with the cargo mass of 500kg. the following figure shows the simulation of advisor tool.

2) from the above simulation, to drive 45km with mass of 500kg, we now increase the battery modules to 45(say). after run the simulation we get

Battery SOC: around 0.12% (45 km with 500kg) with 45 modules. the following figure shows the simulation of advisor tool.

3) Perform gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file

The gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in is simulated with the different speeds with the duration of 10sec are listed in the table.

From the test simulated, we can conclude that Gradeability is inversely porportional to speed. when speed increase, gradeability will decrease.
