1) For EV_defaults_in file, if cargo mass is 500 kg with all other default conditions, can the vehicle travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle? Conclude your observations.

Advisor Tool: It has three windows

1)Vehicle input window.

- Load the file from grop down menu and change the parallel_default_in from vehicle input window.

- Now change the cargo mass to 500 kg.

- Click to continue.

-Change the drive cycle to CYC_FTP by selecting droo down menu.

- RUN the simulation.

No of cycle 1:

Gradeability at 88.5 kmph is 7.1% . Distance travelled in km:17.8

Distance travelled in km:41.4

Minimum distance travelled by vehicle is 17.8 and maximum distance travelled is 41.4km. Therefore vehicle do not travelled 50km due to insufficient SOC.

2) In the above case, try changing the battery capacity and repeat the simulation.

- while changing the battery module in drive cycle2, we get constant distance travelled.

- In drive cycle 3 we get change in distace travelled.

- To cover 45 km distance 28 module 345 volt battery is required.

3) Perform gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file

Compare your results in table and conclude.

Change the speed and duration for simulation.

For 55 mph 10 sec: Gredeability=1.7%

For 40 mph:Gredeability=2.5%

For 35 mph:Gredeability=2.5%

Therefore speed increses gredeability decreases.
