Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool

1. For EV_defaults_in file with cargo mass of 500 kg:

The mass of the vehicle is changed to 500kg. The simulated drive cycle under cyc_UDDS output for 1 cycle is shown below.

The simulated drive cycle under cyc_FTP output for 1 cycle is shown below.

With 1 cycle, the distance covered by the EV is 17.8km.

With 2 cycle, the distance covered by the EV is 35.5km. The distance covered by the EV with 3rd and 4th cycle is 41.4 km.

It is observed that with 25 modules of battery, the distance covered by the EV does not goes beyond 41.4km. Hence, Battery capacity need to modified to cover the distance of 45km.

2.Battery pack of 28 module has been modified instead of 25 module. The observed output is presented below:

With 28 module battery pack, 46.3km range can be achieved with 3 no.of cycles.

3. Gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file has been performed in ADVISOR.

With increase in speed, the gradeability of the vehicle has been reduced. Thus, its concluded that the gradeability is inversely proportional to the speed. The change of gradeability and speed is presented below:
