Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool
1. For EV_defaults_in file, if cargo mass is 500 kg with all other default conditions, can the vehicle travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle? Conclude your observations.
Answer:-
- Open the advisor tool and click start to open the vehicle input in advisor simulator.
- Search for "EV_defaults_in" File from load file and click the file to open.

- In advisor tool the simulator consists of every parameter of vehcile modeling, like mass, vehicle type, energy storage,transmission,wheel/axle,etc.
- Now change some parameters which present in EV_defaults_in File, like CARGO MASS TO 500 KG.

- Then click continue to open the simulation parameters,The simulation parameter consists of different drive cycle and to create a individual own drive cycle by giving different data to the simulink paramete like,Acceleration test,Gradebility test,Parametric test, etc.
-

- Now search for "CYC_FTD" File from drive cycle list in advisior tool.

- The click the file which is "CYC_FTP" Drive cycle.

- Now click the run to get the result.

FOR DEFAULT CONDITIONS:-
- For number of cycles is equal to 1,and the vehicle travelled the distance is 17.8 Km.

- For number of cycles is equal to 2,and the vehicle travelled the distance is 35.5 Km.

- For number of cycles is equal to 3,and the vehicle travelled the distance is 48.2 Km.

- For number of cycles is equal to 4,and the vehicle travelled the distance is 48.2 Km.

- For number of cycles is equal to 10,and the vehicle travelled the distance is 48.2 Km.

IF CARGO MASS IS 500 kg WITH ALL OTHER DEFAULT CONDITIONS,CAN BE VEHICLE TRAVEL FOR 45 km WITH FTP DRIVE CYCLE:-
- For number of cycles is equal to 1,and the vehicle travelled the distance is 17.8 Km.

- For number of cycles is equal to 2,and the vehicle travelled the distance is 35.5 Km.

- For number of cycles is equal to 3,and the vehicle travelled the distance is 41.4 Km.

- For number of cycles is equal to 4,and the vehicle travelled the distance is 41.4 Km.

- For number of cycles is equal to 10,and the vehicle travelled the distance is 41.4 Km.

OBSERVATION RESULT:-
- No,The vehicle cannot travel for 45 Km with FTP Drive cycle.Because in increases of CAGRO MASS to 500 Kg,The vehicle can only travel upto 41.4 Km.
- If the original default condition is present with CARGO MASS at 136 Kg,The vehicle can travel upto 48.2 Km.
- So increase in weight leads to loss in power to travel the greater distance.
2. In the above case, try changing the battery capacity and repeat the simulation.
ANSWER:-
- Open the advisor tool and click start to open the vehicle input in advisor simulator.
- Search for "EV_defaults_in" File from load file and click the file to open.

- Then click continue to open the simulation parameters,The simulation parameter consists of different drive cycle and to create a individual own drive cycle by giving different data to the simulink paramete like,Acceleration test,Gradebility test,Parametric test, etc.
- Now change some parameters which present in EV_defaults_in File, like CARGO MASS TO 500 KG & CHANGE IN BATTERY CAPACITY.

- If the battery capacity is below 25 Modules:Which is 20 Modules.

- For number of cycles is equal to 1,And vehicle travelled the distance is 17.8 Km.

- For number of cycles is equal to 2,And vehicle travelled the distance is 33.5 Km.

- For number of cycles is equal to 3,And vehicle travelled the distance is 33.5 Km.

- For number of cycles is equal to 4,And vehicle travelled the distance is 33.5 Km.

- If the battery capacity is above 25 Modules:Which is 30 Modules.

- For number of cycles is equal to 1,And vehicle travelled the distance is 17.8 Km.

- For number of cycles is equal to 1,And vehicle travelled the distance is 35.5 Km.

- For number of cycles is equal to 1,And vehicle travelled the distance is 49.1 Km.

- For number of cycles is equal to 1,And vehicle travelled the distance is 49.1 Km.

OBSERVATION RESULT:-
- Whenever the battery capacity is less then 25 Modules,The vehicle gets less distance travelled.
- Whenever the battery capacity is more then 30 Modules,The vehicle gets more distance travelled.
- Because the battery capacity which is power or energy storage that the vehicle is depend on to travel the certain distance.
- If energy is more that distance travelled by vehicle is more,And if the energy is less the distance travelled travelled by vehicle is less.
- Here the 25 Modules are taken as default data value in battery capacity.
3. Perform gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file
Compare your results in table and conclude.
ANSWER:-
- Open the advisor tool and click start to open the vehicle input in advisor simulator.
- Search for "PRIUS_JPN_defauts_in" File from load file and click the file to open.

- Then click continue to open the simulation parameters,The simulation parameter consists of different drive cycle and to create a individual own drive cycle by giving different data to the simulink paramete like,Acceleration test,Gradebility test,Parametric test, etc.

- Now,search for any file from drive cycle list in advisor tool.

- Then click the file which is "CYC_FTP" drive cycle.

- NOW PERFORM THE GRADEBILITY TEST:-
- Open the grade options menu folder
-

- Now consider "ALL SYSTEM ENABLED" from"ENERGY STORAGE DISABLED" and keep speed value at 55 mph.

- So by varying the value of speed in grade option menu we get the gradebility percentage.

- by varing the speed value which is given below from simulink result for gradebility we got the values that present below.

- So by keeping the all system enable, speed vs gradeability(%) is taken from the advisor tool in the table result
OBSERVATION RESULT:-
- If speed is less,The gradeability percentage is more.
- If speed is more,The gradeability percentage is less.
- So speed and gradeability percentage is inversely proportional to each other.
