1. For EV_defaults_in file, if cargo mass is 500 kg with all other default conditions, can the vehicle travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle? Conclude your observations.
Answer:-
Given-
Cargo mass (payload)=500kg
Vehicle Type=EV
Drive cycle = FTP drive cycle

- Here cargo mass is enter 500kg
- Then click on continue button.

- As per the given condition here we use the FTP drive cycle.
- one FTP drive cycle is run 17.77km distance.
- Therefore we select 3 drive cycle which means total distance run is 53.31km.
- Then click on RUN button.

- From the result as we seen that, from 100% to 0% SOC(state of charge) of battery, the vehicle run only 41.4km distance.
- Conclusion is that the vehicle can not travel 45km distance.
2. In the above case, try changing the battery capacity and repeat the simulation.
Answer:-

- In above simulation we have changed battery capacity 25V to 30V.

- The drive cycle parameter kept as same as above simulation.

- Here we seen that, if we increase the battery capacity then the distance travel by vehicle is also increases.
- for 25V battery capacity the vehicle travel 41.4km distance and for 30V battery capacity the vehicle travel 49.1km distance.
3. Perform gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file
Compare your results in table and conclude.
Answer:-
Vehicle- PRIUS Jpn

- As per the given condition, we have to perform Gradeability test on given vehicle.

- we perform the test for 10sec on different speed of vehicle.
- And also on different system i.e. hybrid system,EV system,IC engine system.

- Above shows Grdeability test on hybrid vehicle at 10m/h speed for 10sec duration.
- The another different test result as shown in below table.
| for (10sec) | Gradeability(%) | ||
| Vehicle speed(m/h) | Hybrid | EV | IC engine |
| 10 | 30.3 | 30.3 | nil |
| 20 | 19.8 | 19.8 | nil |
| 30 | 14.7 | 14.7 | 2.5 |
| 40 | 11.7 | 11.7 | 2.5 |
| 50 | 9.7 | 9.7 | 2 |
Conclusion:-
From above table we can concluded that, if we increase the speed of vehicle then the Gradeability is decreases.
