Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool
1 ) AIM - Finding the travel possibility of the distance of 45 km of the vehicle with given conditions.
Advisor is the advanced vehicle simulator.
Advisor tool is opened using matlab software by commanding advisor command in the command window.
The cargo mass of 500 kg is set by changing default mass of 136 kg.
Other conditions kept default.
After this continue option is clicked.
'CYC FTP' cycle is selected.
One cycle is off 17.77 km.
Three FTP cycles are selected for this model to check the distance of 45 km.
Then run option is clicked.
RESULT -
From this graph we can clearly see that the vehicle can only travel up to 41.4 km of distance.
The association of battery is zero at 5500 s.
Therefore the vehicle cannot travel up to 41.4 km with this capacity of Battery.
2 ) AIM - In the above case, changing the battery capacity and repeating the simulation.
In the above case , vehicle was not able to run for 45 km , due to low capacity of battery (25 KW) .
So we will the battery capacity from 25 KW to '35 KW' .
RESULT -
Due to increse in the Battery capacity the total distance coverd is also increased to 53.2 Km .
And the SOC of battery still remain at 10 % .
3 ) AIM - Perform gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file.
In Advisor PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file is loaded in Load file option.
In gradability test , Grade option is selected , in which we varied the SPEED to understand the behaviour of Gradeabiility.
1) FOR 20 m/h or 32.2 Km/h

2) FOR 30 m/h or 48.3 Km/h

3) FOR 40 m/h or 64.4 Km/h

From the observations we understood that , With increase in speed ,Greadabilty Decreases.
