AIM - Prepairing a technical report explaining the model properties & comments on the results of ATV Vehicle.

An ATV is designed to handle a broader variety of Terrain than regular Vehicles.

All terrain vehicles are equiped with powerful Engines which can tough heavy loads & move through Swamp or Forest , crossing areas with sand , mud or snow.

In the Baja ATV Simulink Model we have various vehicle components such as a signal builder, engine, CVT block, vehicle body,Tyres etc.

Input / Signal Builder -

In this model the given Break input is zero.

Throttle input is 0.5 for 80 seconds.

CVT (Continuos Variable Transmission) -

It consists of primary Pulley , variator , secondary Pulley and belt.

The variator which is connected to the primary Pulley, when it goes outowards, the variator of secondary Pulley will move inwards such that the radius of the secondary Pulley will be more than the radius of the primary Pulley that will cause the reduction of speed.

And if the variator of primary Pulley moves Inwards then the variator of secondary Pulley will move outwards and it will lead to overdrive.

CVT Gear Ratio (Signal Builder 2)-

The gear ratio decreases to 0.6 in 5 seconds , afterthat it remains constant upto 9 seconds.

Vehicle Body -

In the vehicle body we can specify Mass of car , Drag , number of wheels per axle,Tyre parameters etc.

Inside View OF Vehicle Body -

OUTPUT GRAPH ( Velocity , Displacement , Throttle , Brake )

We can see that the Velocity is increasing & After certain TIME it is at Maximum value while throttle is constant & brakes are not active.

Till now in this model we was giving random values to CVT ratio.

Case 2)

BAJA ATV MODEL with DASHBOARD -

The Modelof BAJAJ ATV with Dashboard consists of Throttle Input & Brake Input.

In the previous model we were giving Input signals through 'signal builders' , Now we are going to give the Input signals through Daashboard by varing knob of Throttle Input &/ Brake input.

Rest of block parameters are same as previous model.

CVT Shaft speed -

PART 2

USING LOOK UP TABLE

In this model we have connected 1-D Lookup Table block by removing Signal Builder of CVT.

Based on the data given to the lookup table it is calculating the required amount of CVT ratio.

Rest of blocks parameters are same as previous model.

OUTPUT GRAPH ( Velocity , Diplacement , Throttle , Brake) -

CVT Shaft Speed -

Case 2)

Using LOOKUP Table With Dashboard

This Model is same as previous Model with addition of Dashboard.

By running this model and changing the knob position on the dashboard we get varied velocity.

Rest of blocks parameters are same as previous model.

In this model the iniatial condition of throttle input is considered o.3 & brake input as zero.

OUTPUT (Velocity , Throttle , Brake) -

CVT Shaft Speed -

RESULTS -

We understood the effect of changing the vehicle weight and CVT ratio.

By this simulation we can test acceleration , speed , Torque , breaking , mass , drag , and many Parameters.

So by following those procedures and having our own data we can also build our own model.
