Week-3 Challenge: ADVISOR Tool
Use ADVISOR tool and simulate the following
1. For EV_defaults_in file, if cargo mass is 500 kg with all other default conditions, can the vehicle travel for 45 km with FTP drive cycle? Conclude your observations.
.Open the advisor tool and select the load file EV defaults_in
Above is Mass without giving 500kg and below is with 500kg
On clicking continue drive cycle window appears.
On selecting the FTP drive cycle above window opens with the drive cycle graph.
Each ftp cycle last for 2477 sec 17.8 km.
Increasing the no of cycles to 4 so as to get 45km,on clicking run results are obtained.
Result figure window appears the graphs for velocity soc emission and overall ratio.
Conclusion: With cargo mass 500kg with all other default conditions the vehicle travel for 41km.
2. In the above case, try changing the battery capacity and repeat the simulat
By increasing 10 Battery modules,now total battery modules are 35.
Conclusion: from the above graph it we can see that the soc remains at 20% even after completing 4ftp drive cycle and now it has travelled a distance of 56.3 km,previous case where the distance travelled was 41km,Hence by increasing the battery ,ev car can cover more distance.
3. Perform gradeability test with PRIUS_Jpn_defaults_in file. Compare your results in table and conclude.

Drive cycle selected is CYC_UDDS.
The gradeability test toggle is selected.On clicking the grade option we can select different parameters.
CASE1:
Speed =60mph=96.6km/h and duration =20sec rest all other parameter are same.
CASE2: Speed =70mph =112.7km/h and duration 20sec
Conclusion:

Gradeability has been tested for different speed and observed that the gradeability decreases with increase in speed of the vehicle.
