Aim:

To simulate the data and given conditions of ev using advisor tool in matlab.

(1):answer

procedure:

we have to open the advisor tool using matlab
then select the load file.ev_file
changing the mass into 500kg , click on continue
then a simulation parameters page will be opened where we have are giving the cycles to run
in the drive cycle we have to change to ftp.

for 3 cycles we can travel upto 41kms

conclusion:up to 3 cycles can be done with 500kg mass and vehicle can travel.

(2) for the same with changing battery capacity

from the energy storage we can increase or decrease the battery capacity.

with 25kw battery for 1 cycle vehicle can travel upto 17.8km

with 25kw battery for 2 cycle vehicle can travel upto 35.5km

with 25kw battery for 3 cycle vehicle can travel upto 41.4km

with 45kw battery for 1 cycle vehicle can travel upto 17.8km

with 45kw battery for 2 cycle vehicle can travel up to 35.5km

with 45kw battery for 3 cycle vehicle can travel upto 53.3km

conclusion:if we have lesser battery capacity range will be less

if higher battery capacity range is increased.

(3).answer:

performing the gradeability test with prius

procedure :

click on the gradeability test opiton

select the speed and time click ok and run

gradeabilty for 40mph and 10 time is 11.7%

now for ic:

for ic with 40mph gradeability is 11.7%

now for hybrid:

with a speed of 40mph gradeability is 2.5% for hybrid.
