Aim: To calculate the Net Sectional Area of Given tension members.

Procedure:

For Plate – Drilled Hole

For Plate – Zigzag bolting

For Angle (200 x 100 x 12 with M20 bolt)

Results: Net Sectional Area of given tension member is mentioned below:

Plate – Drilled Hole

Net Sectional Area = 2064 mm^2

Plate – Zigzag bolting

Net Sectional Area = 2189 mm^2

Angle (200 x 100 x 12 with M20 bolt)

Net Sectional Area = 2808 mm^2

Aim: To design the sag rod for the given loading conditions.

Procedure:

Result: Sag rod of diameter 16 mm will be provided.

Aim: Design a single angle member of length 5m to carry the axial tensile force of 500 kN. The yield strength fy of the material to be considered is 350 N/mm².
