Aim:

To make a simulink model of doorbell using solenoid block as shown in the arrangement

Explanation:

The solenoid is a electromagnet. In which on passing current through the conducting wires a magnetic field is generated around it which attracts magnetic materials. The phenomenon is used in the bell. When the switch of the bell is pressed the current passes through the circuit, exciting the electromagnet and pilling the plunger towards the metal portion and this cause a ring sound.

Simulink Model:

Explantion:

in the above model the pulse generator block is been used and as per the condiution the pulse is set such that every 2 seconds its ON

When the pluse is generated the it passes throught the ps convertor and entrers the swtich wherfe its turned on.The switch is on the current is been passed through circuit. We have attached the solenoid to the circuit and also connected electrical reference in the circuit. The position of the plunger is been obtained using the ideal translation motion sensor. The signals are not read by the scope so the ps convertor is been used again to convert the signal.

Results:

The image shown above the pulse patterngivena as the input for each 2 seconds a swtich is been used the total run time of the block is 20 seconds. The switch block the thershold value is 0.8.THe thershold of the pulse generator is 1.The switch will close as the values is above 0.8.The value of X is 5 mm when plunger is near C and 0 when far frm C.

2)Fan Controlled Thermistor:

Its an electrical resistor whose resistance is greatly reduced by heating, used for measurement and control with a known temperature and resistance values. The condirions are

0-10 second 20 degree celsius

10-30 second 20 degree celsius

30-50 second 20 degree celsius

The signal builder block is used for input signal to the above parameters.

Simulink Model:

Explanation:

The requirement is such that, the fan should be turned on the when the temperature sensed is greter than 25 degree celsius. To fullfill this objective we use a voltmeter to finf the voltage of the circuit at different temperatures. It is found that, voltage at 25 degree celsius is approximately 0.23 V. Now, this voltage signal is passed through a switch. The switch is configured in such a way that, it is open if the voltage across the voltmeter is less than 0.23 V and close if the voltage across thjhe voltmeter is greater than 0.23V. The threshold of the switch is set to 0.23.From the switch output we can see that, only output is between 10-30 seconds as the temperature is greater than 25 degree cedlsius. So, this output can be given to Fan for the simulation.
