Week 12:Project-1-Meshing of Door Inner Panel Challenge
AIM:--
1) Mesh the following component and assign thickness.
PROCEDURE:--
1) First import the model in the proper format
2) Visualise the model properly, do the geometry clean up if required.
3) DEFEATURE all the FILLET regions.
4) Now measure the thickness of the model because it is a plastic model, so it will be having variable thickness in various regions.
5) Now Extract the mid surface for regions where the thickness is the same.
6) There are 3 ways of extracting manual mid-surface
- By using the OFFSET option

- By using the MIDLINE option. First, create midline--then trim that surface using SURFACE EDIT--then use RULED surface

- By using the FINAL EDIT TOOL option.

7) While extracting mid surface you will see some Regions are not attached properly. So we have to attach them by using EXTEND option.

8) Some surface GLITCH can also happen, you can remove it by adding POINT in QUICK EDIT TOOL (F11).
9) We can also replace the EDGE by using EDGE EDIT.
10) Tools we can use these tools to
- ELEMENT EDIT
- TRIM LINES
- REPLACE POINTS
- DISTANCE OPTION
- TRANSLATE OPTION which are failing for warpage.
11) And for every RIBS region use the MIDLINE option to create the mid surface.
12) Toggle the unnecessary line but don't toggle the feature line as this is not preferable.
13) After creating MIDSURFACE.
FINAL MID SURFACE--

14) Apply the QUALITY CRITERIA as per the question.

15) Now mesh the component using 2D--AUTOMESH/F12 from any side and proceed further but don't do random mesh.
16) Remove trias as much as you can and follow this rule while removing trias.

17) In RIB regions there will be so many unwanted points that need to be removed otherwise, it will break the flow of mesh and elements will fail for quality criteria.
18) There is 1 surface where it is conversing at two sides so we will get opposite trias in those direction and that is totally ACCEPETABLE.

19) Try to remesh the area where the mesh flow is not proper
20) Switch to TOPPO to check for quality criteria as well.
21) Remove all the failing elements.

22) After meshing assign thickness to the components.

23) Properly meshed those area as per challenge

FINAL MESHED COMPONENTS --

CONCULUSION:--
By doing this project, the following aspects can be learned:
1. Extracting the mid surface.
2. cleaning up the geometry.
3. Generating the proper mesh flow.
4. Reducing tria concentraion.
5. Assigning the thickness to the given
component(Rear wheel holder)
