Challenge

Week 6-Meshing of Hood Challenge

Aim:--

To extract mid surface and get proper Mesh for the all the components.

To achieve exact quality criteria as given in the question.

Clean the geometry properly.

PROCEDURE:--

1) First import he model in appropiate formate.

2) Then visualize the model properly and do the required geometry cleanup and check for symmetry also

3) After this, delete the solids from parent components.

4) Cut the inner component into half as it is symmetrical about axis.

5) Defeature all the fillet in the latch component.

6) Exrtact the mid surface using auto extract option.

7) Start meshing from one end of the model.

8) NOTE:- Never do random meshing.

9) Split the surfaces very carefully to get proper mesh flow.

10) Toggle these line as it will hamper the mesh flow

After toggle

11) Maintaine the Quality Criteria as per question

12) Always check for no elemants are failing as per criteria. If Yes, then try to eleminate all that by using following options.

  • Quality index
  • Rebuild mesh
  • smoothening
  • edit components
  • quick edit

13) After meshing Reflect the Elements and Surface in the respective current component.

You just have to select the proper axis to reflect and Base point

NOTE:- Never forget to duplicate the Elements and Surface.

Sometimes by us, we create more than one dupliactes in the model

so we have to check for that also, otherwise Hypermesh will not save the file and show this message.

So to overcome this we have to delete the dupliacte elements or surfaces.

13) After all of these final check the components and meshflow.

CONCLUSION:--

1) Learnt how to extrcat midsurface.

2) Eliminate the trias.

3) Maintaing the Quality criteria.

4) How to split the surface.
