Week 11 - Project - A pillar Design with Master Section

AIM:

To create the A piller design with master section given as the intersection sketch with the Class A surface and create the tooling axis and perform the draft analysis for the final solid part.

Class A Surface:

Class A is an aesthetic surface with the highest quality finish. Most Class A Surface for an Automotive component are made using AUTODESK ALIAS. It is taken as a reference by the Automotive Plastic Designer to create Class B and Class C Surface.

Draft analysis of Class A Surface

Tooling Axis:

Tooling Axis and Side core Axis

Tooling axis is the direction in which a core or cavoty of mold opens. This axis is very important to determine the orientation of the component in mold, core and cavity design as well as to run the draft analysis of the component.

Here I have used the Bisecting method for the Tooling Axis by making a point and drawing two lines as reference to make the centre axis.

Class B Surface:

By using offset command by Class A Surface it will create an model with full of dameges.

We need to do the work on the repairs of the Class B surface

By using the commands like Offset, Multiple extract,Extrapole,Sweep,Boundary and Join we can create Class b Surtface.

After the doing of repairs we get the Output of Class B surface.

Class C Surface:

we need to create an Class B Surface by which we can able to join them with Class A ans Class B surfaces.

Creation of Class C surface

By using the commands like Extrapole, Boundary, Curve Smooth, Sweep, Intersect, Trim, Split and Join.

Output of the Class C surface

Creating of Dog House in Closed Surface

This Dog house is created by using the Solid Part Modelling.

By using the Boolean Operation the Dog house is completed.
