Week 11 - Final project
AIM:
Development of a Door Trim panel
OBJECTIVE:
- To crate a tooling axis for the plastic component
- To create a Door Trim panel from given Class A surface.
- To perform the draft analysis over the plastic component.
- Create the Heat Stakes and the Push pin with Dog house considering the design rules
INTRODUCTION:

The door panel is the interface between the interior of the car and the inner workings of the door. Generally the door panel is divided into parts for easy designing like arm rest, map pocket, lower substrate. These require one of the toughest requirement among the interior parts of the car. This should be designed to with stand the load while being less than 2mm in thickness and also to protect the occupants during collisions.

Door currently have an inner full width panel consisting of electronic windows, central locking system and speakers. These panels typically consists of a foamed core covered with either textiles or plastics.
IMPORTING THE MODEL
- Open the downloaded IGES/STEP file make it has class A surface by jioning all the surfaces
PROCEDURE:
- In this component creation approched a different assembly ,Here directly loaded all the parts Class A surfaces and began constructing them in their respective places
- Doing the continuity check to ensure whether given class A surface is continuos or not.By using Boundry/jion method,It seems there is no dis-continuos boundry
- create point on Class A surface plane of Lower map pocket & create tooling axis on point & normal to surface (On surface method)

- similarly do it for all the sub parts
- Arm rest

- Map pocket

- Lower substrate

- Perform draft analysis on all the given class A surfaces ,Below pics shows the result of draft analysis,It cleares that it has 3^0 draft throughout the surface with respect to tooling axis as it is in green color

Creating Class B surface:
- In this component Directly offset class A surface to 2.5 mm

- Then repair the patches of class B surface

- To repair used the operations like multi surface, trim, jion etc with help of tools like line, spline obtain the class B surface
- The finle Class B of Arm rest

- Similarly did the above procedure for All the Parts
- Map pocket

- Lower map pocket

- Lower substrate

Creation of Class C:
- Extract all the boundry of class A surface Separately by observing the complexity ,Then sweep them
- Trim them together then we will get Class C surfaces
- Lower substrate

- Map pocket

- Lower map pocket

- Arm rest

- Jion the class A & class C surface(by trimming)
- Arm rest

- lower map pocket

- Map pocket

- Lower substrate

- Then jion all the Class A,B & C Surfaces

- Then convert these closed surfaces to part body in the part workbench,we will get the required Door Trim Panel

- Then Create the Heat Stakes & Push pin with Dog house considering the following design rules
- Heat Stakes

- Dog house

- perform the Draft analysis on the Finle model.

- From the above figures we can observe They are satisfying 3^0 nominal draft
- From the above figure we can observe They are satisfying 0.5^0 draft on the Heat Stakes
- In some region there is red color Because of given class A or less concentration from my side at that particular regions
- solid model with the proper color code of the draft angle in various orientations
- green- 0.5^0
- Red- 0^0
- Blue- negative side

CONCLUSION:
The Door Trim panel is created with the required engineering features & Draft analysis is Done
