IMPORTANCE OF LIGHTING :

Most drivers simply get into the car, start it and doesn’t even think of lighting or the fact that it can provide security. But most of the light is about security and communications.
The headlights and tail lamps ensure that other drivers see you, even in reduced visibility. This is crucial to avoid accidents.
The drivers must be aware of the fact that daytime running lights do not turn on the tail lights and the headlights, but in bad weather, such as rain, snow, fog or when darkness falls, you need for these lamps.
A part of “be seen” concept is that people see you when you go on the road. This work will do the headlights.
The another most important part of the lighting are the fog lights. The majority of drivers don’t know when to use these special lights. You can use them when the fog is dense, the headlights aren’t sufficient to ensure the appropriate visibility (the droplets stuck in the light).
In this case, the headlight’s light is reflected back to the driver’s eyes, which makes the situation even worse. In such a case, the driver should turn off the head lights and turn on the fog lights.

LIGHTING DESIGN :

Basic name and fuction of automotive lighting,

In lighting there are various parts to be assemble together to make complete Automotive lighting, which are as follows.

LENS :

Lens is the transparent part of automotive lighting.
The main purpose of Lens is that transfer the light come from light source.
Also there is another impoertan purpose is to protect the light source from outside dust and pubbels.
There is Two type of lens one is RED LENS and CLEAR LENS.
Red lens is used for TAIL function and STOP function.
Clear lens can be used for remaining function.

HOUSING :

It is most important part of lighting, In housing we create all the fixation parts.
Also Reflector also fix with the housing, We create the ventilation area to maintain the inside temperature of reflector.

REFLECTOR :

Reflector are use to reflect light coming from light source in proper direction and angle.
To Improve relection we can create fluets on inside feaces of reflector.

VENTILATION :

Application of the Ventilation :

To protect or restrict the dust to go inside the lamp.
To tranfer the heat outside the reflector.
In the cap their is PTPE porous membrane and wovwn fabric which helps to tranfer the heat outside and restrict dust to come in.
Their are some options for the vent cap selection as per the rate of the heat flow.
The Amber and Yellow color is for high heat flow where as the Black color is for low heat flow.

WIRING HARNESS :

Wiring Harness is an assembly of electrical cable or wires which transmit signals or electrical power. The cables are bound together by a durable material such as Rubber, Vinyl, Electrical Tape, Condict, a weave of extruded string, or a combination thereof.

BULB AND LIGHTING SOURCE :

H4 is for the High and Low beam.
PY21W (Pin-type Yellow 21 Watts) bulb is use for Turn Indicator and Cornering function.
W5W (Wedge-type 5 Watts) is use for Position function.
DRL fuction use mostly LED with Light guide.
P21W is use for Tail Stop function.
