Week 10 - Simulating Combustion of Natural Gas.
AIM
To Perform a combustion simulation on the combustor model and plot the variation of the mass fraction of the different species in the simulation using line probes at different locations of the combustor, need to plot for CO2, H2O, CH4, N2, O2, NOx emissions & Soot formation.
add the water content in the fuel from 5% to 30% by mole and observe its effect of it on the results. It is necessary to provide line plots and contours to prove your claim.
OBJECTIVES
1. Use methane-air-2step as a mixture material than methane-air. [It allows to add of water to the fuel or air]
2. Use a one-step soot model to calculate the soot formation.
steps to be followed
1 loading geometry and getting a 2D model
2. Meshing and Named selections
3. Setting up the physics
4. Running the sumiulation
loading geometry and getting a 2D model

Meshing and Named selections

Setting up the physics

the simulation results in Zero moles of water

the simulation results for 5% moles of water

the simulation results in 15% moles of water

the simulation results in 30% moles of water

CONCLUSION
As the percentage of water increases the amount of pollutants such as NOx and CO2 decreases significantly but the formation of soot is unpredictable in some cases it is increasing and in some other cases it is decreasing the percentage of N2 is constantly resulting in the constant instability at all percentages
