Challenge

Week 10 - Challenge 3 - Door Trim Lower with Engineering Features

TOOLING AXIS

tooling axis is created using point direction method were direction is 'y' axis direction.

DRAFT ANALYSIS OF A SURFACE

minimum draft angle of 3 degree is given with respect to tooling axis.here the A surface is clearing with the minimum draft angle.

B SURFACE

C SURFACE

CLOSED BODY

DRAFT ANALYSIS OF CLOSED BODY

HEAT STAKES

heat stakes are used to join similar and disimilar materials .metal to mrtal, plastic to plastic, metal to plastic.

in heat stakes the plastic is deformed by heating it to a temperature above the glass transition temperature and it will be cooled for fitting operation.

4- WAY LOCATOR

these are the locators which arrest four degress of freedom by four ribs junctional together

FINAL REPORT

initilally tooling axis is created using point direction method and draft analysis is performed on A surface with minimum draft angle and it is clearing properly.class A,B,C surfaces are create and trimmed together and converts it to closed body and draft analysis is taken. the body is clearing with minimum draft angle , after that other engineering features like heat stakes and locators are created and added to the main body.
