Week 10 - Challenge 3 - Door Trim Lower with Engineering Features
Given class A surface was analysed and a plane was created to intersect the surface approximately at the middle. Two lines were created along lines representing the walls of the surface. These two lines were used to create a dummy tooling axis using bisecting method. Since the surface is open on one side, another dummy tooling axis was created at an inclination of 5° to the bottom wall. These two dummy axes are then bisected to create the tooling axis.
For draft analysis, the class A surface was selected and the compass was aligned with the tooling axis. All the surface cleared the draft analysis for 2.9°. Then the finished component was selected, since the locators and heat stakes need only 0.5 ° draft, the scale value was changed to 0.45°. All the faces of all the heat stakes and locators cleared the draft analysis.
