Usage of Navigation tool , Timeliner and Clash Detection test using Naviswork

1) Use the Architecture/ Structure Project file developed by you in Week 6 to 8. Export the Revit architecture and structure model to Navisworks Cache file following the export settings discussed in class.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1.1 Aim of the project- To export the REVIT architecture and structure model to Navisworks Cache file following the export settings in BIM.

1.2 Procedure-

Step-1- First of all, Open REVIT software and then open the architecture and structural with .rvt file by click on the Open option.

Step-2- Go to architectural file and click on the file and then click on the export, after clicking on the export them click on the NWC.

Step-3- then a pop up bottom will appear, where we have to save the file as .nwc and name as per requirement.

Step-4- Same procedure has to be done for Structural file as well.

1.2.1 All the step wise screen shots in exporting the Revit architecture and structure model to Navisworks Cache file following the export settings is given below,

1.3 Result-

The results in exporting the Revit architecture and structure model to Navisworks Cache file following the export settings i.e. the nwc file of structural and architectural file named as Project2_architecture_chng_11.nwc and Project2_structural_chng_11.nwc has been uploaded below.

2) Use Navigate Tool to walk around the model and walk through the rooms created and record your moving as animation in your Navisworks file.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2.1 Aim of the project- To use Navigate Tool to walk around the model and walk through the rooms created and record your moving as animation in Navisworks file for Building modelling information (BIM) from exported file from REVIT.

2.2 Procedure-

Step-1- After starting of the REVIT software, first of all open the NWC file type of architectural file with file format .nwc using file option.

Step-2- Then go to viewpoint option and click on the walk bottom and then click save point option by clicking the camera bottom.

Step-3- For recording, click on the save view point and rename the recording as per requirement.

Step-4- By using the cursor, mouse and pan tool, the walk through the building is proceeded. As soon the recorded is stopped, the recorded video will be saved automatically.

2.2.1 All the step wise screen shots in using Navigate Tool to walk around the model and walk through the rooms created and record your moving as animation in Navisworks file is given below.

2.3 Result-

The results in using Navigate Tool to walk around the model and walk through the rooms created and record your moving as animation in Navisworks file i.e. the nwf file named as Project2_architecture_chng_11_navigation.nwf and recorded video named as Project2_architecture_chng_11_navigation-Apartment2 and Project2_architecture_chng_11-Ground_floor_gym, has been uploaded below.

3) Use Navigate tool to use Realism feature to walk through the model and record your moving as animation in Navisworks file.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3.1 Aim of the project- To use Navigate tool to use Realism feature to walk through the model and record your moving as animation in Navisworks file for Building modelling information (BIM) from exported file from REVIT.

3.2 Procedure-

Step-1- After starting of the REVIT software, first of all open the NWC file type of architectural file with file format .nwc using file option.

Step-2- Then go to viewpoint option and click on the realism and then click on third person option. A person will appear on the screen.

Step-3- For recording, click on the save view point and rename the recording as per requirement.

Step-4- By using the cursor, mouse and pan tool, the walk through the building is proceeded. As soon the recorded is stopped, the recorded video will be saved automatically.

3.2.1 All the step wise screen shots in using Navigate tool to use Realism feature to walk through the model and record your moving as animation in Navisworks file is given below.

3.3 Result-

The results in using Navigate tool to use Realism feature to walk through the model and record your moving as animation in Navisworks file i.e. the nwf file named as Project2_architecture_chng_11_navigation.nwf and recorded video named as Project2_architecture_chng_11_navigation-Ground_floor_club - Copy1, has been uploaded below.

4) Embed both architecture and structure *.nwc file to your Navisworks file. Create a clash detection test between the two models
a. Run the Clash Detection Test
b. Study the clashes between the two models
c. List which of the clashes could be approved
d. List which of the clashes could be neglected ( will be taken care later)
e. List which of the clashes can be resolved
f. Save the results after color coding the clashes to the Navisworks file
g. In case of resolution annotate the clash and save the view to defined views in Navisworks.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4.1 Aim of the project- To Embed both architecture and structure *.nwc file to Navisworks file and to create a clash detection test between the two models.

4.2 Procedure-

Step-1- First of all open the architectural file with file type .nwc and then import the structural file with .nwc file type by clicking on the Append option on the home tab.

Step-2- After opening of the structural and architectural file of nwc file, now click on the clash detection from home tab, then a dialog box will be appeared.

Step-3- In the dialog box, name the test name and select architectural from section A and select the structural from section B, then choose the surface option and click on the run test.

Step-4- After clicking on the run test, the result of clash will be produced, now check the clash and provide status of the clash as per the situation.

4.2.1 All the step wise screen shots in Embeding both architecture and structure *.nwc file to Navisworks file and creating a clash detection test between the two models is given below.

4.3 Result-

The results in Embeding both architecture and structure *.nwc file to Navisworks file and creating a clash detection test between the two models i.e. the nwf file named as Project2_architecture_chng_11_navigation.nwf has been uploaded below.

5) Using the Timeliner feature in Navisworks prepare a schedule for the project developed in week 6 to 8 by adding reasonable assumptions for task start date and end date and simulate the task completion as a visual simulation. Record it and save the timeline simulation to Navisworks file.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5.1 Aim of the project- To use the Timeliner feature in Navisworks, prepare a schedule for the project developed in week 6 to 8 by adding reasonable assumptions for task start date and end date and simulate the task completion as a visual simulation and to record it and save the timeline simulation to Navisworks file.

5.2 Procedure-

Step-1- Firstly open the architectural or structural file with file type nwc and then click on the timeliner option in the Home tab.

Step-2- Now enabling the selection tree option.

Step-3- In timeliner, add the task by clicking on the add task option and rename the link as per work and then put the planned start, planned end, actual start and actual end and also define the task type.

Step-4- Again add the task chronologically on the basis of work has to be proceeded and assign the planned start, planned end, actual start and actual end and also define the task type.

Step-5- Now select the task in selection tree and attach to the respective task in the timeline.

Step-6- For animation, click on the simulate bottom on the timeliner and click on play.

Step-7- For saving the animated video, click on the export animation and save it with appropriate name.

5.2.1 All the step wise screen shots in using the Timeliner feature in Navisworks, preparing a schedule for the project developed in week 6 to 8 by adding reasonable assumptions for task start date and end date and simulating the task completion as a visual simulation and recording it and save the timeline simulation to Navisworks fileis is given below.

5.3 Result-

The results in using the Timeliner feature in Navisworks, preparing a schedule for the project developed in week 6 to 8 by adding reasonable assumptions for task start date and end date and simulating the task completion as a visual simulation and recording it and save the timeline simulation to Navisworks fileis i.e. the nwf file named as Project2_architecture_chng_11_navigation.nwf and recorded video named as Project2_architecture_chng_11_navigation-TimeLiner, has been uploaded below.
