Usage of Navigation tool , Timeliner and Clash Detection test using Naviswork
1) Use the Architecture/ Structure Project file developed by you in Week 6 to 8. Export the Revit architecture and structure model to Navisworks Cache file following the export settings discussed in class
Ans:
AIM: To export Revit Week 6 to 8 Architectural and Structural project Model to Navisworks Cache file.
INTRODUCTION: Navisworks is used primarily as a program for design review, allowing professionals to ensure that their work is error-free.
To open our project in naviswork we have to export it from RVT file to NWC file.
PROCEDURE:
- Install Navisworks manage from Autodesk.
- Install navisworks exporter Revit 2023 form Autodesk.
- Open Both Architectural and Structural Projects made in Week 9.

- Go to file<export

- Click on NWC

RESULT:
Both files have been exported as NWC files:

2) Use Navigate Tool to walk around the model and walk through the rooms created and record your moving as animation in your Navisworks file
Ans:
AIM: To walk around the model and walk through the rooms created using Navigate tool and to record our movements as animation in our Navisworks file.
INTRODUCTION: We have to import exported Revit NWC files into naviswork manage to access it
PROCEDURE:
- Open Navisworks and our NWC files.
- Now we have to walk through this model:

- Now we have to walk through this model, For that go to the viewpoint tab < Navigate < Walk.

- Go to viewport

- Slowly use your cursor and record the room.
- The watch recordings go to saved viewpoints. Rename them as required.

- Go to animation and click the play option to play the recordings.

- To export this video click on Export Animation and select the appropriate format.

- Click OK to render, and export the recorded video.

RESULT:
We can see the recording in the destination folder.
3) Use Navigate tool to use Realism feature to walk through the model and record your moving as animation in Navisworks file
Ans:
AIM: To use the Realism feature to walk through the model and record our moving as animation in the Navisworks file using navigate the tool.
INTRODUCTION: The realism feature is a similar feature to the Walkthrough. It uses to record video in a realistic way. A person will appear on our screen.
PROCEDURE:
- To start realism go to viewpoint< navigate < Realism < 3rd person

- No click and walk and repeat same procedure as recording the walkthrough.

RESULT:
The video is saved in the destination folder:

4) Embed both architecture and structure *.nwc file to your Navisworks file. Create a clash detection test between the two models
a. Run the Clash Detection Test
b. Study the clashes between the two models
c. List which of the clashes could be approved
d. List which of the clashes could be neglected ( will be taken care later)
e. List which of the clashes can be resolved
f. Save the results after color coding the clashes to the Navisworks file
g. In case of resolution annotate the clash and save the view to defined views in Navisworks
Ans:
AIM:
- To run the clash detection test
- To study the clashes between the two models
- To list which of the clashes could be approved
- To list which of the clashes could be neglected and will be taken care of later.
- To list which of the clashes can be resolved
- To save the results after colour coding the clashes to the Navisworks file
- To annotate the clash and save the view to defined views in Navisworks.
INTRODUCTION: This project is the main objective of Navisworks.
PROCEDURE:
- Insert the structural model into the architectural model from Home

- We can see that the Structural model is also imported:

- Now we have to run the clash detection test: Home<Tools

- Clash detective dialogue will get open. Click on Add Test option:

- Give a new name to the test and select architectural from Selection A and select structural from Selection B.

- We can see 645 clashes in our project

- Change the status of clashes as required

RESULT: This is now we should do the clash detective test
5) Using the Timeliner feature in Navisworks prepare a schedule for the project developed in week 6 to 8 by adding reasonable assumptions for task start date and end date and simulate the task completion as a visual simulation. Record it and save the timeline simulation to Navisworks file
Ans:
AIM: To prepare a schedule for the project developed in week 6 to 8 by adding reasonable assumptions for start date and end date and simulate the task completion as a visual simulation, record and save the timeline simulation to navisworks file.
INTRODUCTION: While completing a project completely we have to prepare a schedule for the project developed.
PROCEDURE:
- Open Navisworks and import the NWC project from Revit.
- In-home,at tools tab go to timeliner.

- Before adding a task, go to the selection tree
- Now add tasks one by one to the timeliner by attaching selections from selection tree:
- Now chick simulates and plays the video. Since I have provided less number of activities these are the outputs.
RESULT: This is how we need to create the schedule using timeliner feature.
