Usage of Navigation tool , Timeliner and Clash Detection test using Naviswork
1) Use the Architecture/ Structure Project file developed by you in Week 6 to 8. Export the Revit architecture and structure model to Navisworks Cache file following the export settings discussed in class
Aim: To export the Revit architecture and structure model to Navisworks cache file
Introduction:
1. Open the Revit, check whether Naviswork is linked to exports of Revit
2. If not search for Naviswork Manage 2023 in google as my Revit version is 2023
3. Download the extension accoridngly from Autodesk, then it would be reflected in Revit software
4. From revit, export option export both architecture and structure model to Navisworks

Result: The Revit architecture and structure model to Navisworks cache file is exported to Navisworks
2) Use Navigate Tool to walk around the model and walk through the rooms created and record your moving as animation in your Navisworks file
Aim: To use Navigate Tool to walk around the model. To walk through the rooms and to record moving as animation in Navisworks file
Procedure:
1. Open the Naviswork Manage and open the exported architecture model into it
2. Go to view tab and click on walk through
3. From saveviewpoint option, save and give it a name
4. Record it to get your moving as animation in Navisworks file
5. Stop the video and save it accordingly

Result: Navigate Tool is used to walk around the model. By walking through the rooms recorded the views as animation in Navisworks file
3) Use Navigate tool to use Realism feature to walk through the model and record your moving as animation in Navisworks file
Aim: To use Navigate tool to use Realism feature to walk through the model and to record moving as animation in Navisworks file
Procedure:
1. Open the Naviswork Manage and open the exported architecture model into it
2. Go to view tab and click on realism and click on third person
3. From saveviewpoint option, save and give it a name
4. Record it to get your moving as animation in Navisworks file
5. Stop the video and save it accordingly

Result: Navigate tool and Realism feature is used to walk through the model and recorded moving as animation in Navisworks file
4) Embed both architecture and structure *.nwc file to your Navisworks file. Create a clash detection test between the two models
a. Run the Clash Detection Test
b. Study the clashes between the two models
c. List which of the clashes could be approved
d. List which of the clashes could be neglected ( will be taken care later)
e. List which of the clashes can be resolved
f. Save the results after color coding the clashes to the Navisworks file
g. In case of resolution annotate the clash and save the view to defined views in Navisworks
Aim: To embed both architecture and structure files to Naviswork and to create a clash detection test between them. To study the created clash detection test.
Procedure:
1. Open the architectural file in Naviswork
2. Click on append in home tab
3. Now open the structural model to identify clashes between models
4. Select the clash detective from home tab
5. select the architectural in one section and structural in other section as shown
6. Run the test to find out the clashes
7. After the test, analyse the obtained clashes
8. There will be options like approved, reviewed, resolved, active. Mark the clashes accordingly
9. If there is a clash between beam and column or slab and elevator. Keep teh status as review and review it and resolve it. Then can mark it to resolved
10. List down the clashes which can be approved, reviewed, resolved by selcting them from drop down menu

Result: Both architecture and structure files are embed into Naviswork and created a clash detection test between them. Studied the created clash detection test and listed our the observations
5) Using the Timeliner feature in Navisworks prepare a schedule for the project developed in week 6 to 8 by adding reasonable assumptions for task start date and end date and simulate the task completion as a visual simulation. Record it and save the timeline simulation to Navisworks file
Aim: To prepare a schedule for the existing project by adding start date and end date and to simulate the task completion as a visual simulation using Navisworks. To record the data and to save the timeline simulation
Introduction:
1. Open the structual file in Naviswork which was exported from revit
2. From home tab select the timeliner
3. Also open the selection tree from home tab
4. Add tasks and attach the materials to the task from selection tree
5. Provide planned, actual start and ends dates to the tasks accoridngly
6. Follow the the same procedure for entire building in which order the tasks have to complete
7. After addition of all tasks click on simulate then it gets simulated
8. After that play and record the obtained video of visual simulation
9. Savethe timeline simulation using the save option

Result: A schedule is prepared for the existing project by adding start date and end date and the task completion is simulated as a visual simulation using Navisworks. The date is recorded and saved accordingly to Navisowrks file
