Usage of Navigation tool , Timeliner and Clash Detection test using Naviswork

1.AIM

To Use the Architecture/ Structure Project file developed by you in Week 6 to 8. Export the Revit file to Navisworks Cache file.

INTRODUCTION

Navisworks is primarily used in construction industries to complement 3D design packages( such as Autodesk Revit,AutoCAD, and Microstation),Navisworks allows users to open and combine 3D models ;navigate around them in real-time and review the model using a set of tools including comments , redlining , viewpoint and measurements.A selection of plug-ins enhances the package adding interference detection,4D time simulation, photorealistic rendering and PDF - like publishing

COMMANDS USED

  • Architectural file
  • Open
  • Export
  • NWC
  • Navisworks
  • 3D View

PROCEDURE

STEP1

  • Open revit
  • Then open the architectural model which has been created in the previous weeks
  • Viewing it in 3D view

  • Click on file tab in that export - NWC

  • Create a new folder as naviswork save the file in that

STEP2

  • Then open the naviswork
  • Click open and open dialogbox appears
  • From that select which we want to open and select the NWC extension and then click ok
  • Same procedure for other files also

RESULT

Architecture project file is exported sucessfully

STEP3

  • Go to the viewpoint tool

  • select the save viewpoint option and save it as living room
  • Select the walk option

  • Use the cursor to select where we want to start the walk by using the arrow keys
  • Select the record option from the view point

  • Them walk video will be recorded
  • After finishing the walk we can stop
  • save the video as living room

  • For viewing the vedio go to the animation play the video

RESULT

We have created walk through to rooms and recorded moving as animation in navisworks file.

  • Save the view as 'realism '

  • Then click on the realistic option
  • From that select the third person option
  • Now select the walk option
  • using the cursor select where we want to start the walk
  • We can walk using the arrow keys
  • Now we can use the record option and record the walk with the help of realistic third person

  • For viewing the vedio go to the animation play the video

RESULT

We have used the realistic feature to walk through the model and recorded our movings as animation in naviswork file

4.AIM

To Create a clash detection test between the two models
a. Run the Clash Detection Test
b. Study the clashes between the two models
c. List which of the clashes could be approved
d. List which of the clashes could be neglected ( will be taken care later)
e. List which of the clashes can be resolved
f. Save the results after color coding the clashes to the Navisworks file
g. In case of resolution annotate the clash and save the view to defined views in Navisworks

  • Navisworks
  • Append
  • Add test
  • clash detection

PROCEDURE

STEP1

  • Open revit
  • Then open the architectural model which has been created in the previous weeks
  • Viewing it in 3D view

  • Click on file tab in that export - NWC

  • Create a new folder as naviswork save the file in that

STEP2

  • Now to add the structural plan
  • Go to the home tab select 'Append'

  • From there select the structural model and open

STEP3

clash detective test

  • From hometab select the clash detective

  • Clash detective dialogbox will appears

  • Click on add test option

  • Then click on the files which we want to test then click on the run test
  • Clashes can be approved as part of the construction ,these clashes will not appear anymore
  • If clashes which will not cause any disturbance it can be neglected
  • We can annotate and save the clash at the place where it is visible and is viewed personally and can be solved by the desihn engineer

RESULT

Clash detective test is run successfully

  • Click on the timeliner tool and a dialogbox will appear

  • Select the components by selecting the selection tree and add them to the timeliner
  • Then click the add task
  • Add the first work in the project and add the actual and planned start and end dates
  • select the task type as construction
  • Then need to attacth the task by selecting them

  • After filling all the details in the timeliner dialogbox we can click simulate
  • We can see the construction in the form of a video
  • we can save the video

RESULT

We have used timeliner feature in Navisworks prepare a schedule for the project developed in week 6 to 8 by adding reasonable assumptions for task start date and end date and simulate the task completion as a visual simulation. Record it and save the timeline simulation to Navisworks file.
