Creation of geometries by Coordinate system methods using AutoCad
AIM
T0 create geometrics using the coordinates systems methods using the line tool
INTRODUCTION
In this we are dealing with three main methods of coordinate system
1.ABSOLUTE COORDINATE SYSTEM
Absolute cordinate system refers to the caresian system that uses x-axis , y-axis and sometimes z-axis to establish a point some distance from acommon origin. When entering the absolute coordinates, just enter the coordinates of points in the command line.while using absolute coordinate , we need to know the exact position of points of the objects .
2.RELATIVE COORDINATE SYSTEM
The distance or angle of axes relative to the last point, need to enter @ before entering coordinate values
3.POLAR COORDINATE SYSTEM
Polar coordinates is to position points by entering distance and angle separated by<.Both absolute coordinates and relative coordinates can be entered , but @ needs to be added when entering relative coordinates such as @ 10<45
4.DIRECT DISTANCE ENTRY METHOD
Used for drawing different shapes/ geometrics in AUTOCAD by simply pointing the cursor in the desired direction and entering the required distance in the command line
PROCEDURE
STARTING AUTOCAD
- Select AutoCAD 2023 from the start menu
- In the command line type in:STARTUP then enter
- Enter the new value of startup:1
- Then from application menu select NEW
- 'Create New Drawing' dialog box will appear and from that select the Imperial System in the 'Start from the Scratch' option
- Next select the 'Decimal' unit system from the Advanced setup option
- set the limits by entering LIMITS in the command tab.lower left corner is specified as 0,0 and upper right corner is specified as 200,200
