Underbody Coating

UNDER BODY COATING

Underbody coating is type of Anti-Rust coating, which is applied in the base of Automotive vehicles to prevent loss of strength due to rust or other chemical action.

We might have seen, some of the vehicle having very bad condition of its structure due to lifespan. And eventually it reduces the strength of vehicle’s underbody or chassis. If it is a load carrying vehicle, it will never take the load what it had done its younger age. It might be collapse, if it going for a task. To prevent this kindly of situations and increase the durability of vehicle UNDER BODY COATING is an essential think must have done.

Underbody coating is usually a dense cladding (often based on rubber) applied uniformly to the undercarriage of the automobile. It is normally sprayed or painted on when the car is just out of the dealership and is clean. But even if you are getting the undercoating applied after a couple of years. The Car manufacturers use thick paints and sealants for the underbody, but adding an underbody coat especially in coastal cities is useful. Salt water tends to corrode cars really badly.

Rustproofing and undercoating your vehicle can protect it from corrosion and rust. This is especially important for the undercarriage of your vehicle, which commonly comes into contact with substances such as water, chemicals such as salt, and other dirt and debris from the road.

Normally Underbody coating can be done as follows:

1.Rubberized Underbody Coating

generally, offers the best protective coating for your car's undercarriage. It cushions surfaces against moisture, rust, dings, and dents. Rubberized undercoating is safe to use on quarter panels and wheel wells and dries with a soft rubbery finish. easy to apply.

Rubberized undercoating does a great job of keeping existing rust all covered up and looking sharp, but it does absolutely nothing to slow down the spread of rust and corrosion sometimes the trapped air and moisture may even contribute to rust formation

2.Wax Based Underbody Coating.

Solvent containing; Bitumen free anticorrosive agent, based on Wax, Polymers and anticorrosive additives. It provides precision in coating and better sag resistance.

3.Asphalt Based Automotive Undercoating

Asphalt Based Undercoating does provide some benefits over Waxed Based Undercoating. They both stick well to most any surfaces and do a great job sealing out moisture, road chemicals and oxygen. But mainly, Asphalt undercoating has the benefit of being less expensive. They protect anywhere up to 5 years and dry to a Firm to Hard coating.

4.Polyurethane Underbody Coating

Polyurethane coating is easy to apply and works by sealing up cracks and seams. The compound displaces salt and moisture and protects the unoxidized metal from rust. Polyurethane car underseal requires some surface prep work before application, like degreasing, and applying an etching primer to bare metal.
