Given part file has analysed and created a datum plane on the outer most portion of tyre, which is helps to calculate the clearance gap. A point has created, which is parallel to the centre of tyre. Drawn two perpendicular lines, which are intersecting at that point, and make it as reference line by right clicking on those lines.
Using ‘Project curve’ (which is helping to project line or curve from face to a particular plane), required wheel arch curves are projected on current working plane along with Tyre outer curve. By extending vertical reference line an intersecting point (SA) can be identified.
Lines are created from the Points, having certain measurements of 30 degree and 50 degrees from the vertical reference line on either side and intersecting points (SB and SC) are created on wheel arch curve projected on plane.
150mm offset has been created from the horizontal reference line in upward direction and created an intersecting point (SE) with wheel arch curve on that plane.
All the available ‘Intersecting points’ are individually projected on Fender by using ‘Project curve’. And measured the distance between projected points and original points to identify the clearance of Wheel arch.
Results are mentioned in below furnished table.
